TRAVEL AIR 3000 NC3947
NC3947 landed at Glendale three times, on May 4, 10 and 12, 1931. The pilot was not identified, but passengers were carried on each flight (also unidentified). It is also signed in during 1929-31 to the Clover Field Register (twice) and Davis-Monthan Airfield Register (once). It was owned by a person identified as "Cunningham," and where the pilots were identified at these latter fields, Ben Catlin flew two of the three flights. He could well have been the pilot at some of the Glendale landings.
This airplane is still registered with the FAA and at last check it is flying in Missouri. Photographs of NC3947 from 1982 at the Watsonville, CA Municipal Airport are at this link and this one. Then it was painted a light yellow. A photograph of it as of the upload date of this page is at the Davis-Monthan link, above, painted red and blue. It carries S/N 321.
