THE PLACES THEY CAME FROM AND FLEW TO

You will notice when you examine the images of the Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT) Register pages that the Operators who entered information in the Register logged the places many pilots "Arrived From", and their "Destination."

Surprisingly, there was a lot of "local" traffic at GCAT. Many pilots were logged in the Register simply as "local" for their destination. And many were logged as coming from or going to other Los Angeles-area airfields, such as Riverside, United Airport, Clover Field, Van Nuys or Mines Field. Transcontinental and Western Airlines (TWA) used Glendale as a hub for their west coast passenger service to San Francisco, CA, and for their passenger and mail services to Kansas City, MO. TWA aircraft can be found on a regular service schedule to and from these destinations.
